Scuba Diving and Snorkeling in the Florida Keys.

A Florida Keys diving experience is for everyone who wishes to take a plunge into the clear warm waters, and explore the one and only coral reef barrier in North America.

The Great Florida Reef Track, is the third largest coral system in the world! This underwater forest begins not to far  from Fowey Rocks, a coral reef patch located south of Cape Coral, not far from Miami, in the boundaries of the Biscayne National Park.

Then the coral reef track runs 170 miles southwest, extending in the same direction of the Florida Keys to find its final destination near the Marquesas Islands at only 30 miles from Key West.

The beauty of these coral reefs patches and the marine life that inhabits in this underwater world are the main quality and feature of this diving experience. The ship wrecks and sunken ships also attract a crowd of visitors with scuba diving and snorkeling curiousness.

They all want to discover what is beneath the bluish turquoise waters of the Keys, and certainly this is a world of discovery. As seeing in the many National Geographic films and documentaries about the experiences of people like you and I.

It's a beautiful, fascinating and colorful world, of sea life and vividness worth taking the time to see.

It so happens that the Florida Keys are all a big coral complex formation several thousand years old.

These shallow water reefs serve as the habitat to plenty of marine life...And you only find this active ecosystem here in this part of the world!

The best diving and snorkeling sites in the Florida Keys are located within this track From The Dry Tortugas National Park all the way to the north of Key Largo.

There are a good number of ship wrecks along this track of coral reefs that run along the Florida Keys. For the divers is a thrilling experience to explore this wrecks. Some are in shallow waters and can be explore by novice divers and snorkelers.

The Scuba Experience.

For many of us, scuba diving for the first time it might be a little intimidating, but the good thing is that most of the diving in the Florida Keys is organized and regulated by certified shops an experts in the scuba world.

A group of young scuba divers and their instructor.

The first part of the journey is in the instruction, training and certification required for this exciting adventure. Next the dive...But not alone! Dive under the supervision of the dive master and in the company of other divers.

To be able to perform deep water dives and ship wreck dives you need specialize training and the proper diving equipment.

Snorkeling is a simple, easier and practical way of diving.

One way to experience this rush if not scuba diving, is snorkeling,  anyone can do it, not mush training or certification is required, just a few minutes of instruction before you inter the water. Every day children and adults go snorkeling to the shallow reefs patches.

Swimming and snorkeling in turquoise tropical waters.

In deeps of 5 to 15 feet of water the visibility is usually good and you can appreciate the reefs scenery with no trouble at all. Snorkeling trips here are not too expensive, they go for around $40-$50 per person.

Jump in at the deep end!

The Florida Keys diving adventures are certainly memorable!

I've seen them come and go over the years with a smile of satisfaction, after experiencing the rush of the adventure that awaits in the waters of the Florida Keys.

Either you decide to stay in the shallow end of the pool or go out into the ocean.
